The Ys series has been totally under my radar until now. I knew of its origins on the TurboGrafx, and to my own detriment wrote it off as just another anime themed action RPG I didn’t need to pay attention to. Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana is a great JRPG. After I finished Xenoblade and Mario Odyssey, I was worried that I wouldn't have anything to play, but when I hear Ys was being ported to the switch, I was excited. I really love this game. I love the gameplay mechanics, characters and story. It includes 18 DLC, and Ys VIII adventure plus. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is easily the most ambitious entry in series to date, with an expansive world map and a greater emphasis on storytelling. It carries the proud tradition of a skillfully satisfying and lightning fast combat engine, paired with a soundtrack that could only have been composed by the legends at Team JDK. Whilst of absolutely no use to readers of this review in the USA, Amazon.co.uk are offering a collectors edition which comes with a few nice collectable items.
